With my trial of Cloudways underway, the first WordPress site that I would test out with is of course my own christopherlei.com. Instead of simply spinning up a new instance of WordPress and simply copying over my old theme files over, I decided to use this opportunity to rebuild christopherlei.com from the ground up. This was more a practice to get back into WordPress development. I would still copy snippets of code and paste them over as there was no reason to re-invent functionality.
christopherlei.com at this point, really only serves two purposes. One is a landing page that would essentially acts as landing page for my branding. Secondly, which is the bulk of functionality, is a Custom Post Type of concerts that I attend. If you head on over to christopherlei.com/concert/, this is how I track all the concerts that I attend. With this iteration, I decided to also add a link to each concerts setlist.fm as well as an instagram link to photos I take at the show, but more importantly, a way to access notes about the show or thoughts in the photo description.
